From its roots in 16th Century Italy, to 1930’s America, when today’s game was devised in its current form, Bingo has always been a crowd-pleaser.
Its appeal has always been its simplicity to play (although the maths system behind the numbered cards is fiendish, and sent its inventor quite mad!), allied with a great combination of both fun and tension – plus, of course the knowledge that every game will result in a win for at least one lucky person.
Today, clubs around the UK continue to host Bingo nights for their members – a great way to attract people in and to generate funds. Although the core game has not changed since the 1930s, the mechanics of improving the Bingo experience certainly have.
The main game
Dransfields carries a full range of equipment to give clubs an exciting and varied set of Bingo-related games to offer their members. At the heart of our product offering is our ‘Full House’ Bingo machine, a sturdy and reliable electronic console which randomly generates and stores the numbers for the caller, while displaying the last number called to players. The Full House machine also has a random number generator for raffles and similar games and can therefore run a club’s tote.
Alongside this, a whole range of equipment is available to enhance play; including themed dabbers based on TV characters (the Coronation Street set is a best-seller!).
Associated games
More and more clubs are finding that they can further enhance their Bingo nights by including associated games to play alongside the main event. Games such as:
Bingo 90 (where players buy a ticket to gamble on the last number played in a Bingo game).
Super 5 (players select 5 numbers of their choice between 1-90; first person to have their numbers drawn during the main Bingo game wins).
Quickie Four Bingo (where players buy five lines of four numbers from 1-12 per strip, there being 99 strips in a pad for one complete game. Four random numbers are generated, resulting in one winner (only), guaranteed).
The beauty of Bingo and its associated games is the flexibility it gives to clubs. From short sessions to a whole evening’s play, the format can be set up to enhance the club’s ongoing schedule of activities and attract a good crowd. And with the club able to set its own stakes and prizes (not always cash; many clubs offering prizes as an alternative), Bingo has always been a great way to raise funds.
So, if you’d like a full house more often, talk to your account manager today about introducing or enhancing Bingo nights at your club.
