It's Showtime

Something to brighten the gloom of January – the gaming and amusement machine exhibition season is upon us!

We have two major exhibitions to look forward to in the next few weeks. The first is EAG International at the Excel London Exhibition Centre between the 21st and 23rd January. Billed as the amusement and leisure show, it promises to be quite an event.

The other is ICE Totally Gaming, also at the Excel in London, on the 4th to the 6th February 2014. ICE is promising 'to carve out a path for the future of gaming worldwide', and we're expecting to see some interesting products.

As many of you will know, new legislation has now taken effect that allows the first increase in stakes and prizes on club gaming machines in nigh on 20 years. On Category B4 machines, the new maximum prize has increased to £400, and on Category C machines, it is £100. We are looking forward to working closely with our customers to take advantage of these changes, and it might even mean that venues with higher £400 jackpot machines may see the return of core players from the local bookmakers!

We're also expecting some really exciting advances in machine design with the introduction of new styles of games. The changes that will affect our customers are those for Category B3A, B4 and C machines. We'll be scouring the event for innovations and new ideas, and to make sure we're still leading the market with the range of fruit machines, quiz machines, and Lucky Dip pull tab machines that we offer to pubs, clubs and other venues. We'll also be ensuring that our other products are still best-in-class: so we'll be looking to see what suppliers of jukeboxes, pool tables, bingo and fundraising products and family entertainment machines have all got to offer.

Although we're expecting to see lots of new ideas at EAG International and ICE, in truth, we're already well advanced in bringing a new machine that will be exclusively available to Dransfields customers from February 2014 in response to the new gaming legislation. We're really excited about launching this to our customers – watch this space!
